Olivia's Christmas Program

Olivia's daycare/school had their annual Christmas program last night. She got to do her little dance recital and then sing with her class. They said a poem and sang 2 songs, and then they said a poem in French and sang a song in French (don't ask me to translate because I have NO CLUE)!

Santa

From Drop Box

Today we took the girls to see Santa. Olivia made sure to tell Santa her wish list and Santa was quick to tell her that she had to be a good girl and listen to her parents! THANK-YOU SANTA!!!

Thanksgiving

This year we spent Thanksgiving at the farm. This was the first time the Dufon's got to meet Chloe and Natalie "loved" her new cousin.

Fall 09

I can't believe that Chloe is already 3 months old! Boy the time has gone by fast and we LOVE having her in our family. As you will be able to see in the pictures, Olivia loves to hold her...and she always asks us to "pet" her, which means she wants to touch her head. We try telling her that it is not petting, but she hasn't quite gotten past that she pets the dog and cat on the head, so it must be what she does to her sister.
You will also be able to see that Chloe is quite the cuddler. She can snuggle with the best of 'em...and we wouldn't have it any other way. She has settled into a nice little routine at home, lets just hope she does the same when she starts daycare next week.
Olivia has a new favorite activity...leaf jumping! She would do this for hours if we let her. Fortunately the weather has been decent so she has been able to do it frequently.

Happy Girls!

This weekend I took Olivia up to the community safety center a.k.a. fire department, police station, jail, and court, because they had a big trucks display. They had all of the rescue vehicles out for people to go in and check out, as well as the police station, fire station, jail and court open for people to walk through. She thought it was pretty cool to walk around and check things out, but her favorite thing was to play with the swinging door in the court room...go figure!
Later this weekend, Chloe decided she was ready to be happy and start smiling...hopefully this keeps up!

Chloe's Baptism

This past weekend we had Chloe baptised and celebrated Grandpa Frank's birthday. We were so lucky to have Dale's brother Dave's family and my sister Suzanne and her family here to join us, along with both of our parents.

1 month

Well, we have successfully made it through 1 month with 2 kids. It was a busy month that went by very fast. So fast that I have yet to get birth announcements out. My goal is to get them out this week some time...we will see how successful I am.

She's A Week Old!

Week 1 down with Ms. Chloe and it brought lots of excitement. On Monday we went to the doctor for our post delivery check-up. He thought she looked kind of jaundice so he sent us to the lab for blood work. Early Tuesday morning (1:30 a.m.), the doctor called the house and instructed us to go to the hospital for admission, that her bilirubin level was high. We stayed for 36 hours, 30 of which were spent in an incubator under lights. Her levels came down and we got to go home. THANK GOODNESS my mom was still staying with us to help out. THANK-YOU MOM for EVERYTHING you did...YOU ARE GOING TO BE MISSED!!!

She's Here!!!

On August 5th we welcomed the newest addition to our family. Chloe Rose, weighing 7 lbs. 4 oz. came into the world just as pretty and perfect as can be. Big Sister Olivia couldn't be more proud and happy to have a little sister.

Swimming

Olivia took swim lessons at the community pool this summer. She LOVED being in the water and successfully passed Level 1 of the Red Cross program. She was a little upset when lessons were over because it meant that the pool would be closing for the year....I know sounds weird...but we are getting a new community pool so they began construction August 2nd.

Remaining pics are of Buddy swimming in the pool. The last swim each year is for the dogs.

O's 3rd Birthday Party

This weekend we had Olivia's first "real" birthday party at Pump It Up, which is a bounce house place. We invited her friends from daycare/school, as well as family. There ended up being 12 kids there along with their parents. It was so nice that GiGi and Aunt Suzanne could join us with Anna, Uncle Erik and Aunt Debbie brought Allison and Sara, and Grandma and Grandpa also were there. We all had so much fun jumping around, going on the obstacle course and going down the big slide. Olivia got really nice gifts and we are so grateful that everyone was there to help us celebrate.

Her real birthday is on Monday...she has picked Red Robin for dinner...more pics to follow from that.

O's First Haircut

Hard to tell I know! It was just a trim...her hair was really uneven and I guess that is what happens when you go almost 3 years without a cut! She really liked sitting in the chair and she talked for days about how she got her hair cut.

Talent Show at Little Gym

We have been taking Olivia to The Little Gym for the past year. At the end of each semester they do a talent show for the parents. We started this semester out in the parents/tots class, but as Olivia continued to become more independent, her teacher suggested that we put her in the Funny Bugs class where she goes into the gym by herself. We asked Olivia if she wanted to go by herself and she was all about it. She did great and loves being in there without mom and dad. Here are the pictures from the end of the semester show.

Where did January go?

I cannot believe that January is almost gone, where did the time go?
After not having much snow, January finally brought us the white stuff. We had a little on New Years...but it was such little that Olivia was able to take her new purple bike outside and take it for a test spin. She really liked that, but kept asking us when she could use her purple sled. We waited and waited, then the snow came. Olivia really liked going sledding with her dad and playing at the park. We then got a blast of cold air...temps below zero and I saw my first no school day. I was happy for this, as for those of you who don't know, I am expecting and mornings have been a little more difficult for me, so it was nice to stay at home. The weather finally warmed up a little, Olivia kept asking for us to "buy more snow" and she got her wish, because today we had our second no school day, and we saw close to a foot of snow. Olivia was again happy to be out playing in the snow. Dale had a lot of help snowblowing...betweeen Buddy following behind him, Olivia helping him push, and our next door neighbor also following him, he got the job done!

We hope everyone has been enjoying the new year so far and staying warm!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

We were again this year very fortunate to spend time with both of our families and had a fantastic time! We started out Christmas at our house where Olivia was greeted with a purple bike...something she has been asking Santa for since August! She was very excited to see the bike under the tree...however was not so excited when we had to leave it at home to begin our travels!

We left our house Christmas afternoon and headed to Dale's brother's house. We were losers and forgot to take our camera in...so unfortunately no pics:( Olivia really enjoyed playing with her cousins and LOVED the keyboard from Uncle Dave and the dress-up clothes from Aunt Debbie...and we must not forget the bell for her bike that Uncle Dave also got her! It was great seeing all of the Slivinski Family and we hope to do it again very soon!!! We stayed with grandma and grandpa for 2 days and then continued our journeys!

Our next journey took us up to the farm to see GiGi and Bumpa. We knew that Aunt Kath and her family were there (in from China), but when we arrived we got a surprise that Uncle Steve and his family would be joining us for the Dufon Christmas after all. So all the Dufon's were home and together...it was really great! All of the Dufon kids were able to stay at the farm one night, while all of the in-laws stayed at Aunt Suzanne's house. That was really nice!!! We were also quite surprised to see the snow piles, as they had been getting quite a bit of snow. Because it had rained, much of the snow melted, but there was still enough for some snowmobiling. The kids all loved their rides around the yard...and Buddy enjoyed chasing the snowmobile!!! He slept good at night! We were able to go bowling, play Wii games, and Olivia attempted ice skating for the very first time (our sources told us she thought the ice was too slippery so she didn't stay on for long), we didn't go because we were packing to come home. Again, Olivia loved playing with her cousins and we were all (especially me) very sad to go home!
